As the Professional Development Specialist, you will support the Programme Director in the design and delivery of the Openwork Business School (OBS) management and professional development programmes throughout the Openwork Partnership. 

You will contribute to the Openwork Partnership’s vision to be recognised as a leader in the development of a qualified and capable community of financial advice professionals across the UK. 
 
Key Accountabilities
  • Supporting the design and development of training programmes (including digitisation) to meet Partnership objectives.
  • Design and deliver effective and engaging training materials utilising a variety of media.
  • Train Firm Principals and their people in professional and management skills.
  • Train managers, supervisors, and colleagues in professional and management skills.
  • Organise and facilitate employee development and training events.
  • Develop organisational communications to ensure employees have knowledge of development resources.
  • Conduct follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate results and identify and support the modification of programmes as needed.
  • Exemplify the desired culture and philosophies of the organisation.
  • Work effectively as a team member with other members of the OBS.
  • Contribute to the development in approaches to learning and development within the OBS including supporting the development of an internal accreditation programme. 

What will you need to succeed?

  • Experience in training or within a learning and development position. 
  • In-depth understanding of learning and development within a Professional Services environment. 
  • Knowledge of financial advice businesses is essential. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Strong presentation skills. 
  • Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
  • Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives. 
  • Ability to design and implement effective training and development interventions. 
  • Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of learning and training interventions and effect improvement where appropriate. 
  • Experience of working in a partnership-type environment and an understanding of the challenges in delivering to a network comprising Partnerships and Head Office would be an advantage. 

The benefits: 

  • Salary - £37,000 to £55,000
  • Bonus scheme - on target bonus - 10%
  • Pension scheme - contribute up to 5% of your salary and Openwork will match you and put in an extra 5%
