The opportunity

Reporting to the Openwork Managing Director, the Owl Sales Director’s core purpose is to achieve profitable growth for the business. You'll take ownership of the promotion of the Owl proposition, ensuring that our Advisers are given the necessary support to grow and develop in order that they achieve their business goals. 

Accountable for:
  • Delivering a high-performance culture within the Owl channel, promoting product proposition and services in line with corporate plan and with adherence to regulatory standards/requirements.
  • Developing annual productivity plans by implementing marketing strategies, analysing trends and results.
  • Forecasting and developing annual targets; projecting expected volumes and profit for existing and new products.
  • Providing input to the strategic direction for Owl distribution linked to Group strategy.
  • Developing plans for future emerging talent for broader succession pipelines
  • Actively participating as an SMT member and sits on appropriate Boards & Committees, supporting the Openwork MD with discharging SMF responsibilities.
  • Management and talent development of all direct reports.
  • Ensuring functional areas deliver objectives which are aligned with short, medium and long term corporate strategic goals.
The Benefits:
  • Salary - up to £160,000
  • Bonus - 30% on target
  • Pension scheme - contribute up to 5% of your salary and Openwork will match you and put in an extra 5%

What will you need to succeed?

  • Understanding and passion for working amongst diverse communities
  • Experience of working with protection products
  •  Substantial distribution and operational management experience in relevant product markets.
  • Established experience of operating at Board and Board Committee level.
  • Able to provide strong functional leadership across all functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory policy and priorities, Conduct Risk and The Consumer Duty principles.
  • Understands FCA guidelines and focus at any time
  • Strategic vision combined with solid operational skills.
  • Strong ability to lead and implement change, displaying both persistence and resilience.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiating competence.
