The opportunity

We have an interim need for an AR Regime Consultant to join our established team for a period of 6 months.

You will be responsible for the control, monitoring, analysis of data and oversight arrangements of AR’s and completion of the Annual Self-Assessment demonstrating compliance with SUP12. 

We need you to:
  • Be responsible for embedding of an effective, robust, and consistent AR Regime frameworks, processes and governance which underpin the AR Regime.
  • Research, review, and analyse the effectiveness of existing requirements, gathering processes and develop strategies for enhancing of further leveraging these processes.
  • Undertake a variety of monitoring and assurance activities including compliance-based audits and risk assessments focused on systems and controls.
  • Proactively identify and report any quality, trends, themes, emerging risks, and behavioural indicators, escalating effectively and making suggestions for action, and implementing solutions.
  • Pro-actively consider impact of regulatory change and ensure risks are effectively escalated.
  • Identify and develop strong relationships with key contacts across the partnership (both internally and externally)
  • Ensure documented processes, procedures and guides are kept up to date to reflect any changes.
  • Recognise issues and take appropriate action to resolve and move forward to resolution.
  • Identify reoccurring trends or issues and escalate with recommendations.
  • Use initiative to identify, propose solutions and make changes to processes / procedures / standards to drive continuous improvement.

What will you need to succeed?

  • At least 3 years operational compliance experience in financial services industry, preferably including audit experience.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the regulatory landscape and emerging industry risks, with; 
    • Good knowledge of regulatory framework
    • Good understanding of the Financial Services Industry and COBs regulatory framework and requirements, including Financial Conduct Authority, TCF, Data Protection, Anti Money Laundering and Vulnerable Customer principles
    • Good understanding of market, risk, and business awareness
  • Strong IT skills, with working knowledge of MS Office, in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Excellent communication, influencing, facilitation and negotiating skills.
  • Strong project and planning skills and able to co-ordinate cross departmental issues/projects across multiple stakeholders to achieve an effective outcome.
  • Problem Solving, interpretation, decision making and judgement skills.
  • Excellent planning and organising skills.
  • Is tenacious but able to build and maintain effective relationships.
  • Demonstrates right minded thinking - does what is right not what is easy.
