The opportunity

The Senior Test Analyst will take responsibility for conducting a wide range of test activity, including Systems Integration and User Acceptance Testing of in-house and third-party systems. You will be involved with testing new functionality, as well as business as usual maintenance fixes together with any other testing requirements identified. There will be opportunity to own and manage individual project testing assignments, reporting to the Test Manager.

Please be advised this role is on a fixed term contract basis, until 31st June 2022.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Determining test requirements (coverage, environments, components), creating test plans, drafting test scripts, to provide the right coverage and detail to meet the test objectives.
  • Providing point estimates for user stories.
  • Identifying and documenting all significant risks and issues for each stage of testing; Articulating the risk and impact of any risk-based decision making.
  • Working closely with the development teams, supporting their unit / component integration testing, where advantageous to the overall product quality.
  • Liaising with the Test and Environment Managers, Developers and Project Managers to ensure appropriate configuration of systems, and to resolve risks and issues.
  • Creating regression tests and updating regression packs, identifying test automation opportunities where the business value is evident.
  • Supporting the Test Automation Team in their functional understanding of the system.
  • Engaging business representatives in all stages of the testing process, providing feedback to all team members as required.
  • Reporting progress and conducting end of sprint show-and-tell session with business users.
  • Identifying, reporting, and tracking defects that are raised during the execution of testing; Supporting the triage, tracking and completion of actions to ensure the defects are resolved.

What will you need to succeed?

  • Highly preferable - experience of testing Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems across multiple browsers, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Highly preferable - knowledge of AR network Systems and the way the Openwork business operates would be desirable.
  • Highly preferable - good knowledge of financial services products in the wealth, mortgage, and protection domains.
  • Highly preferable - good planning and organisational skills; able to prioritise and manage own workload.
  • Experience of Component, System Integration, User Acceptance Testing, including but not limited to, checking interface message flows end-to-end and back-end databases for both positive and negative scenarios.
  • Ability to design test plans and scripts, strong ownership of key testing activities.
  • Experience of testing in an Agile / Scrum environment working towards meeting acceptance criteria.
  • Experience of testing at all stages of the SDLC.
  • Experience of testing API, desirable not essential
  • Experience writing Feature Files with BDD tools such as SpecFlow/Cucumber, desirable not essential.
  • ISEB/ISTQB Foundation certification required.
  • Knowledge of defect reporting processes and software tools.
  • Delivery focused.
  • Effective written and face to face communications; presents ideas logically and clearly.
  • Strong analytical skills; structured in gathering requirements and feedback.
