The opportunity

In this role, you will work closely with the E-Learning Development Manager to design, develop/commission and implement e-learning/digital solutions for the Openwork Business School (OBS) in line with the OBS strategy.

Digital learning has progressed to cover a wide range of formal course-based e-learning packages and products, together with a huge variety of complementary or alternative techniques, such as sharing knowledge or links to resources via social/interactive media sites and viewing/participating in online lectures, webinars, podcasts, or blogs. More recent trends include the development of gaming technology to support learning, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and the use of cloud computing, that give the potential to deliver learning according to user needs via the Internet rather than by in-house computing systems.

This is a new and important appointment, working alongside the E-Learning Development Manager, as well as the wide OBS team, to further develop technological capability and provide solutions for the enhancement of learning and the delegate experience through the facilitation of innovation, creativity, and knowledge transfer regarding e-learning.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Devise, design and build or oversee the commissioning of innovative, aligned, and effective technological solutions to emerging learning and development needs in the Partnership.
  • Devise, design and implement alternative delivery strategies for current learning and development materials to enable wider dissemination and/or more cost-effective and timely delivery.
  • Design of the OBS e-communication platforms and project oversight of implementation.
  • Identify and implement emerging trends in eLearning design, undertake research.

What will you need to succeed?

  • Minimum of two years eLearning design and development experience.
  • Graphic Design background.
  • Instructional Design knowledge.
  • Proficient in the use of content authoring tools e.g., Articulate Storyline, Captivate, Lectora.
  • Understanding of eLearning standards (SCORM).
  • Financial Services experience - desirable.
  • Experience of dealing with targets, SLAs, and complaints.
  • Have a thorough and contemporary understanding of e-learning.
  • Have a thorough grasp of instructional design practice relating to technology-based learning.
  • Evidence of innovative application of e-learning technologies.
  • A good understanding of Openwork and Distribution Services.
  • Business awareness and service orientation.
