The opportunity

The Endpoint Management Engineer role plays a key role within Technology, taking responsibility for designing, building, managing, maintaining and supporting the Modern Endpoint environment and associated systems across the entire estate at The Openwork Partnership.

Your responsibilities:
  • Assist in the Design, Build, implementation, and support of the Modern Endpoint / Desktop / Laptop computing environments utilising modern deployments and management techniques
  • Be able to provide and share knowledge and expertise within the EUC Team as well as the wider Technology team
  • Be an expert in the field and work with other Technology teams in delivering high quality service of EUC team deliverables
  • Responsible for managing the resolution of user incidents escalated from the Service Desk
  • Successfully maintain the software & hardware asset management across The Openwork Partnership
  • Analytical & troubleshooting mindset for assisting and owning problem & incident management items
  • Performing and Ensuring security and patch updates & vulnerabilities are deployed and managed
  • Providing technical expertise to resolve Operational problems
  • Ensure complete adherence of Change Management processes
  • Management of support ticket work queues for yourself and assisting the team with theirs
  • Managing issues/risks and escalating as appropriate
  • Create and maintain support documentation
  • Working closely with key 3rd party suppliers in order to deliver Service to Openwork
  • Provide remote support to both The Openwork Partnership field staff and advisers when required
  • Maintain security of systems through identification of risks, operation of security controls and participation in the patching of all applicable devices
  • To have a good understanding of The Openwork Partnership aims, objectives and goals

What will you need to succeed?

  • Microsoft: MCTS, MCP qualifications.
  • Previous solid 1st/2nd line technical and/or IT helpdesk experience with demonstrated technical expertise within a IT support environment.
  • Experience working with third party suppliers.
  • Experience working in a regulated financial services environment.
  • A good understanding of IT Infrastructure.
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of our application systems within core operations, the business areas supported and at a high level how application components integrate.
  • Thorough understanding, appreciation, and application of ITIL Change and Problem Management processes.
  • Maintaining awareness of industry trends / new technology.
  • Technical skill set including:
    - Windows Client Operating Systems.
    - Data Encryption Technology.
    - Active Directory Group Policy Objects.
    - Scripting (any).
    - Mitel telephone administration or similar.
    - Software deployment tools.
    - Application packaging / deployment.
    - Printer maintenance, support, configuration and deployment.
    - Anti-virus knowledge configuration / deployment.
