The opportunity

As Assurance Standards Consultant, we'd like you to take accountability for the delivery of effective assurance oversight keeping The Openwork Partnership safe and reduce consumer harm. Responsible for ensuring efficient and effective assurance standards are in place across the operational regulatory functions this is a proactive role with great scope for development. 

This is a hybrid role with 2 days per week in our Swindon office.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Proactively identify and report any quality, trends, themes, emerging risks, and behavioural indicators.
  • Identify opportunities for improved efficiencies and to strengthen the regulatory controls.
  • Provide SME support and oversight across Openwork and 2plan entities within the COO function to support the delivery of effective control management across AR monitoring activity.
  • Undertake a variety of governance, monitoring and assurance activities including supporting compliance-based audits and risk assessments focused on systems and controls across operational functions.
  • Escalating effectively and making suggestions for action, and implementing solutions, to keep The Openwork Partnership safe & reduce consumer harm.
  • Display an understanding of the end-to-end business processes, procedures, and systems (across operational functions) so that the implications of change are fully understood and communicated.
  • Projects & Audits - Provide support to projects and initiatives as required. To assist with internal / external Audits and oversight.
  • Undertake regular reviews of policies and standards to ensure up to date and fit for purpose.
  • Where required work alongside business functions to document governance frameworks and processes.
  • Attend relevant groups/committees where required.

What will you need to succeed?

  • Relevant experience in a similar role in financial services
  • Qualified to Diploma Level (preferred or working towards)
  • Knowledge of FCA legislation particularly TCF and Data Protection
  • Understanding of The Openwork Partnership assurance model, risk/control frameworks, governance and regulatory controls.
  • Good market, risk and business awareness
  • Knowledge of The Openwork Partnership or another AR network
  • Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Sound judgement skills based on knowledge of regulatory rules.

  • Professional, organised approach
  • Effective under pressure
  • Confident and articulate communication style with the ability to confidently influence manage conflict effectively.
  • Strong organisation skills including both verbal and written
  • Ability to prioritise on own initiative.
