This is a hybrid role based 3 days a week out of our Leeds office.

The benefits:

  • Bonus scheme - on target bonus - 10%

  • Critical illness cover
  • Income protection - 1x salary
  • Death in service - 4x salary
  • 27 days holiday + bank holidays, with the opportunity to buy up to an additional 10 days
  • A range of other flexible benefits to include private medical insurance, dental insurance and much more.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of risk assessments, analysis and reporting to the Senior Leadership Team, Board Committees and Group Risk & Compliance forums.
  • Help ensure the enterprise risk and control frameworks are implemented consistently and operate effectively across the business.
  • Partner with first line stakeholders to support the identification, assessment, monitoring and negotiation of risks.
  • Provide second line oversight and constructive challenge on risk management practices and control design.
  • Contribute to risk assessments and risk opinions to support business decisions, projects and change initiatives.
  • Maintain and enhance the centralised risk database and incident logs, ensuring data quality and identifying trends, emerging risks and control weaknesses.
  • Support risk culture initiatives, including risk training, horizon scanning, thematic reviews and clear risk reporting, while building strong relationships across the business and Group Risk and Compliance.

What will you need to succeed?

  • Proven experience working in a risk management role, ideally in a second line capacity.
  • Experience of having exposure to a range of risk types, including: Enterprise risk, Operational risk (including technology and information security risks), Financial and/or compliance risk
  • Experience within the financial services sector is desirable, particularly intermediated or retail financial services.
  • Experience working within a regulated environment (e.g. FCA‑authorised firm) is advantageous.
  • Some experience of scenario analysis, stress testing or structured risk assessment methodologies is advantageous.
  • Sound understanding of core risk management concepts, frameworks and tools, and how they are applied in practice (including but not limited to a risk and control self-assessment process / risk event reporting process etc).
  • Understanding of the role of risk management within the Three Lines of Defence model.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail; able to assess, interpret and challenge risk information, including incomplete or evolving data.
  • Pragmatic and proportionate approach to risk, with a strong understanding of risk‑reward trade‑offs within a regulated adviser environment.
  • Competent IT user, with strong Microsoft Office skills and experience of risk management systems.
