The opportunity

We are looking for an experienced administrator to join our Foundation team and play a visible part in helping us grow our impact. You’ll own our day‑to‑day administration, support our Events Executive to deliver standout fundraising activity, and proactively source team volunteering opportunities with local charities.

The Openwork Foundation has just had a record year, raising over £1m for local charities—and we’re aiming even higher this year. This role is key to creating the capacity to introduce new technology, streamline how we work, and expand the number of events and volunteering opportunities available to colleagues across The Openwork Partnership.

This is a 9-month fixed term contract based in our Swindon Office, with the requirement to be in the office 3 days a week.

The benefits:

  • Salary
  • Pension scheme - contribute up to 5% of your salary and Openwork will match you and put in an extra 5%
  • Critical illness cover
  • Income protection
  • Death in service - 4x salary
  • 27 days holiday + bank holidays, with the opportunity to buy up to an additional 10 days. Up to 3 working days per year of paid time to participate in volunteering activities
  • A range of other flexible benefits to include private medical insurance, dental insurance and much more.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Own core administration and reporting for income, expenditure and record‑keeping—primarily using Excel—to keep our activities running smoothly and accurately.
  • Partner with the Foundation Executive to improve the information we capture about supporters, helping us understand engagement and grow participation.
  • Support fundraising events end‑to‑end by tracking ticket sales and bookings, maintaining attendee information, and providing remote logistics support on the day.
  • Build relationships with local charities around Swindon to identify meaningful volunteering opportunities for office teams, and coordinate set‑up, bookings and delivery to ensure a great experience.
  • Provide flexible administrative support across the Foundation team as priorities shift.

What will you need to succeed?

  • Proven experience in an administrative role (charity, events, or office‑based) with a strong eye for detail and follow‑through.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills for tracking information, producing reports and maintaining accurate records.
  • Ideally, experience handling payments, invoices or financial administration, with confidence working with numbers and processes.
  • Useful experience supporting events, ticket sales or bookings, with a customer‑focused approach.
  • Beneficial: experience working with, or liaising with, charities or community organisations to build positive, professional relationships.
